Jenny Beavan Instagram – Thinking back on the Mrs Harris journey and finding the photographs of us in masks, and some which emphasise the glamour of filming on location …! Remembering the added difficulty of doing fittings in masks, visors and surgical gloves (although we gave up on gloves fairly quickly). It was so distancing from the characters we were trying to create, and each other, but obviously kept everyone safer. Masks, lockdown, quarantine and working in Hungarian! (not the easiest language on the planet) added to our challenges but everyone was so understanding and helpful and we got there! What a crew – not many of us but all so good. Dear Team Harris Costume!
Just the Oscars to go now and then Mrs Harris can put away her duster, fold her pinny neatly and rest her head wrap. She is a war baby and into sustainability so will have gotten a lot of use out of her outfit!
She, Jenny and Team Harris Costume are totally thrilled to have been recognised for all the awards and even to have won 🏆 one – thank you BIFA!! We were very honoured. We were a small modest film but we got noticed! I think the amazing Lesley Manville may have had something to do with that! Thank you all so much!
On the last lap now but so wonderful to have had time here in LA between awards and met so many lovely designers I didn’t know before. A privilege – the Guild evening was wonderful and fun! We are a good strong bunch.
