Thank you to our nation’s school counselors for the life-changing work that they do to help their students achieve their dreams and realize their full potential. This year’s School Counselor of the Year, Meredith Draughn, is one to be celebrated. As a school counselor at B. Everett Jordan Elementary School in Graham, North Carolina, Meredith has worked to remove barriers to learning for students in every classroom at her school. And she does so by getting her entire community involved. Meredith invites local high school and college students to come to her school to help tutor students and teach them important lessons like how to make healthy decisions. I am so inspired by Meredith—and I know her students are too. Let’s give it up for her and all the school counselors who go above and beyond for our nation’s students.
