Sarah Rafferty Instagram – Twenty four days ago I saw @wendellpcg play Willy Loman in #DeathofaSalesman on #Broadway. Since then not a day has passed that I haven’t thought about his performance…not a day has passed that glimpses of this beautiful production haven’t replayed in my imagination….that “snapshots” haven’t arrested me in the middle of my day. Like many, I’ve seen this play before, and I’ve seen extraordinary performances, but Wendell took this play, this character and cracked it open with some kind of surgical skill…with a kind of empathy, humanity and athleticism that made me ‘hear’ the play like I never imagined I could have. Like I was inside of it or that it was being conjured up and out of all of us. My only wish when it was over, and Wendell said many others had said the same, was that we could have had a few extra moments in the the blackout to attempt to pull the pieces of ourselves that were blown open, back together. But in many ways, I still haven’t and I think that was one of the many gifts of his performance. This is the closing weekend and I want to send gratitude to the entire astonishing cast and creative team and sincere wishes that this production lives on in some way, so that many many more people can experience it. ❤️ New York, New York
