Stephanie Shepherd Instagram – There are 69,000 people experiencing homelessness in LA county. It’s truly heartbreaking and quite frankly inhumane that 4,500 people live in Skid Row. I went to visit @thepeopleconcern‘s 3 program sites (interim housing, mental health, outreach) downtown to learn more about their services and the clients at each center and how I can best support the work they’re doing. Those who are experiencing homelessness can utilize the @thepeopleconcern resources for interim housing, mental health services, receive medical care, income assistance and rehabilitation. Each client is assigned a case manager who helps them navigate their way from being unhoused to housed, healthy and safe. ***because of their wrap around services 92% of the clients who enter @thepeopleconcern mand find permanent housing stay housed! **** This is a community issue and we need to do everything we can to help our brothers and sisters who are most vulnerable.
