Between Hogwarts, Whoville, and Rydell High, I’ve been a little all over the place. But I’m trying to get better at sharing, so here goes. Even though I’m two months late. 🥴
Growing up, I had been taught that because of my ethnicity, I would never be the lead. And I Definitely wouldn’t be able to play a character originated by someone of a different race. So you can imagine how I felt when Universal Studios asked if I would “baby-sit” Cindy Lou Who this season. This had never been done before, so I literally thought that at any moment someone would realize they had made a mistake and would take it all away. I wouldn’t let myself believe it was happening until there were actual guests in front of me. Alas, it happened. 🥺
The joy I felt every time I stepped onto that Snowflake could melt glaciers. I was on the verge of tears every dang day. Thank you to my Grinchmas family for making me feel supported and worthy of being there, and thank you @unistudios for taking a leap of faith and making the changes that we need to see in the world. ❤️
