John Heilemann Instagram – On the S8 first-half finale of @sho_thecircus, “Nothing But The Truth” … an historic week for America and our legal system called for an ep unlike any other in the annals of #thecircus, so pls SWIPE LEFT: (1) starting where we ended, with one of the smartest sharpest wisest group dinners in Circus history at @legacyrecordsrestaurant; (2) stepping back to where we started, with a long-craved roundtable at @unapizzanapoletana with the legendary @anthony_w_mangieri; (3) why long-craved? why legendary? *this* is why; (4) the 🍕 wasn’t the only special guest star this week … just as splendid, stepping in as the show’s first-ever legal 🦅 guest host, here’s fabled fearsome former FBI/DOJ/Mueller investigation prosecutor (and sweet-souled pappa of the beloved MSNBC-cameoing Innis 🐶) Andrew Weissmann; (5) getting drinks and talking special counsel stuff with AW and my bruh @nealkatyal on Indictment Eve; (6) why are these men chortling? because they know what’s coming; (7) outside the courthouse in lower Manhattan on Thurs night a few minutes before DA Alvin Bragg walked out after the big news broke; (8) at our closing dinner the next evening, @cfcolemanjr and @sarahlongwell2020 dropping 🧠💣; (9) @douglas.brinkley1776 comparing Trump to Jesse James; and (10) me, @jennifer.palmieri, @mmckinnon, and our insanely great crew — @ginanem @patmorrissey2nd @adamgrass et al — back outside the courthouse, on a night we won’t soon forget.
