Pete Correale Instagram – The Wilbur – Dec 10 My love for the city of Boston runs long and deep. In the early 80’s my family took a vacation to Boston, one morning I snuck out of my hotel room at 5 AM while my whole family was still sleeping. I roamed the streets of Boston for 2 1/2 hours at 10 years old. When I finally got back to the hotel room my parents were awake and freaking out, my dad couldn’t decide if he should hug me or kill me for making my mom worry. When he asked me where I went I told him the honest truth, “I was looking for Larry Bird.” I figured Bird got up early every morning and jogged the streets of Boston and if I got up early enough I might run into him and we could jog the streets together like Rocky running through Philly. I never found Bird but I sure did fall in love with Boston. I have never seen the Wilbur theater, I don’t know how many people it can hold I don’t even know if there’s a guy named Wilbur that owns the damn thing, but what I do know is I’ve been wanting to play this place for the past 20 years.
