Sanford Biggers Instagram – 🌱Spring offerings ✨ Via @hammer_museum “Starting this weekend, the Hammer will have new exhibition spaces spanning an entire city block along Wilshire Boulevard–starting with Sanford Biggers’ @sanfordbiggers Oracle, inaugurating our outdoor sculpture pedestal at Wilshire and Glendon Avenue.

This 25 feet tall, 7+ ton bronze figure is part of Biggers’s “Chimera” series, which combines the classic figures and movements of Greco-Roman sculpture with a variety of iconic African objects from the 14th to the 20th centuries.

For the next year, Oracle be seen every day by a wide range of people who walk or drive through one of the busiest corridors in the country.

Viewers are invited by the artist to leave an offering at the base of the sculpture. Starting this weekend, feel free to bring an offering of whatever speaks to your heart.
