Theo Germaine Instagram – Hello! Posting a photo for the algorithm 🙂
Today is World Autism Day! I am sharing some instagram accounts of four autistic content creators/bloggers that I follow. I recommend you also follow! Scroll to the right for pictures please.
@autistic_callum_ : Callum is an educator/content creator based in the UK who uses both seriousness & humor when it comes to content creation that I really adore <3
@autisticblackgirl : Nadia is a content creator who is also based in the UK & makes really good graphics that could help you learn more about how autism is not a diagnosis just for white people <3
@neurodivergent_lou : Lou is a content creator who shares graphics that talk about sensory needs, accommodations, as well as Lou’s perspective on autism <3
@allthingsfrost : this is an account that is a family blog for the Frost family; Odin, who is autistic and has cerebral palsy, is a very handsome musician. The account details various ins & outs of everyday life of just one autistic person with cerebral palsy, detailing various support needs & showing how to be a good support person. <3
According to all available evidence, autism has occurred in humans ever since the species of humans evolved. This means it has occurred in all types of people & all genders, not just White, Cisgender Boys. Autistic people have a disability that needs to be supported & accommodated, NOT CURED. Allistic (non-autistic people) people should work to educate themselves on Autism to help eliminate stigma around this neurodevelopmental disorder. Autistic people face a myriad of violent corrective bullshit & are largely not accepted. Society is still very very ableist in many many ways, expecting people to be “able” to be “normal.” Fuck that.
“Autistic people are individuals. We are not all math geniuses, we don’t all like trains. I am hopeless with technology and much prefer painting. There is no ‘typical Autistic.’ But I think we probably all like being respected and validated.” – Jeanette Purkis
Please share other accounts in the comments that you love and think people should follow! Thanks for reading. <3 | Posted on 03/Apr/2023 02:16:43
