Warren Brown Instagram – March 2021. Things had started to pick up again in the Film & Television industry after the small matter of a global pandemic. I was thrilled and very excited to be getting back to work. Because of aforementioned pandemic; strict protocols were in place and things were done a little differently.

Typically a Costume fitting will take place on a unit base with the Costume designer, their team and yourself, trying on a multitude of different costumes. You start to see what works, what doesn’t and it’s an essential part in the process of creating any character.

In light of said climate, I wouldn’t be doing the fitting at unit base with the designer. Instead, a plethora of costumes would be sent to my home and I was instructed to try pieces on and take photos. Living on my own this was going to prove difficult. I had an idea:💡

I would dust off my self tape equipment, film myself trying on each outfit, screenshot outfits and send photos. Having spent a little too much time on my own and no time in front of a camera… I may have gotten a little carried away… 🙈

Shout out to my old mate, Costume Designer Extraordinaire and all round wee cracker @smythmill who made a virtual appearance! Needless to say when I arrived to start work, more people than I had anticipated and who definitely did not work in the Costume Department had seen the following! 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣

Grateful to @dancingledge @bbc @shoey000 and everyone involved in that first job back… The Responder. It also went and got a string of @bafta nominations last week! 🤞🏼
