Tracy instantly felt like someone I’d known forever… and that feeling never left. Coming up in this biz, you meet so many people and you’re lucky if you find even a few that will be there though everything that is to come in life and career… to stand by you through the lows and suffer through your highs. And what was to come for you Tracy in the 20+ years since was all that and more. And to see you transfer your wit and joy and kindness and intelligence and sense of justice into a public life that uplifts so many… it’s priceless. Your work to amplify marginalized voices and normalize difficult conversations about race and privilege has made a major impact in Canadian television and beyond. And this is why I know the Changemaker Award from the @thecdnacademy means the most to you. I’m so grateful to be included in such a massive, well-deserved honour. My Belle-Mère Elisabeth has a saying that flips the script in the best way: “To whom much is given, much is expected.
