Last October the class of 2022 and I began working together on zoom to make a piece. The process became a moving experience that I will never forget. Somehow, through all the screens and distance, we were able to find each other, to listen and to dance together. Here’s our “unison” , a collage of movements from each individual. Today is the last performance of “Pierre”. To be completely honest, I’m not ready to leave this incredible group of artists, dreamers, and creators. It has been a dream come true from the first seed to the final day. Forever thankful to the dancers, who fearlessly and graciously left a part of themselves in the world of the piece everyday. Thank you to Celeste Oram who created the score and filled the room with music that I will want to listen to until I die. Thank you @keir_gogwilt for the support and expertise and belief. Thank you to @christianfriedlander who built us walls to fall into and question and lean against. To Thomas Beck who brought us the light to see each other. To @rikkekorfix who dressed us and made us feel beautiful and timeless. To @weinberger.tom who kept the engine of the heart beating strong and true, keeping us on track. To Marie Haugsted Mors who helped us tell our messy stories in the most clear way. To my partner in crime @or_schraiber . You held ALL of us together. To my daughter Dea Lou, the constant reminder to put what’s burning in me out into the wild world. And to @nikolajhubbe and @timmatiakis – the ones who planted the seed, who started the fire.
