Deanna Yusoff Instagram – Essential oils, also known as EO’s, are highly concentrated extracts obtained from plants. These oils get their name from the fact that they contain the essence or scent of the plant from which they are derived.

Essential oils have been used for thousands of years for their therapeutic and medicinal properties, as well as for their fragrance and flavor.

EO’s are made from various parts of plants, including flowers, leaves, bark, roots, and seeds. The extraction process can be done using several methods, such as steam distillation, cold pressing, or solvent extraction. The extraction process is crucial to obtaining a high-quality, pure essential oil that retains the plant’s natural properties.

For centuries, EO’s have been used in various cultures for their therapeutic, medicinal, and aromatic properties.

Today, essential oils are commonly used in aromatherapy, where they are inhaled or applied topically to promote relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve mood. They are also used in massage therapy and skincare products for their therapeutic properties.

However, it is important to use essential oils with caution and under the guidance of a trained professional. Some essential oils can be toxic if ingested or applied improperly and can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions. Pregnant women, children, and people with certain medical conditions should also consult with a healthcare provider before using essential oils.

Overall, essential oils offer a natural way to promote physical and emotional well-being, and their rich history and many uses make them a fascinating subject to explore.

In the next post, we will dive into the fascinating history of essential oils in various cultures around the world. We will explore how ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Chinese, and Greeks used essential oils for medicinal, cosmetic, and spiritual purposes. Deanna Yusoff Instagram – On one of my trips to Switzerland, I visited a convalescent home surrounded by forests and a beautiful lake. While exploring, I found a small glass house where herbs and small vegetables were grown to be used in their kitchen. Although I am not very good with plants, being surrounded by them was a wonderful experience. It got me thinking about how important plants are in our lives.

Plants are more than just a source of food. They have medicinal and aromatic properties that have been used for centuries. Many modern medicines are derived from plants. Herbs have been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years and essential oils extracted from plants are used in aromatherapy to promote relaxation and reduce stress.

In addition, plants have air-purifying properties and can remove toxins from the air, making our environment cleaner and healthier.

Studies have also shown that exposure to plants and nature can reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and increase productivity. Incorporating plants into our homes and workplaces can have a positive impact on our lives and the environment.
