I booked a guest star on a network show 4 weeks after moving to LA. It does not escape me what a wonderful opportunity that was especially being the new girl in town. I was humbled & my friends & family were over the moon for me but there was this one comment that struck me from another actor. “Don’t get used to it. That’s not how it works.” Then proceeded to tell me the scary facts about booking an acting job. Like only 3% of SAG actors work, I’m competing with other actresses with bigger credits, casting offices don’t know me, it was beginners luck… etc.. etc.. 🤦🏻♀️ I was so new & fresh that I wasn’t in my head or in my way of just living in the moment. When I auditioned I remember thinking “someone has to book this why not me?” That wasn’t ego it was healthy confidence. You have to believe in yourself because this business & sometimes other people who mean well will test you on the daily. For the record my career has had its ups & downs but I love storytelling so here I am years later. 😊 To my fellow creatives shut out the noise & stay in your magic. ✨💖
