Kanchi Kaul Instagram – This was , by far , the most adventurous day of the trip ! We started out by going out to a snow slope for some mad fun tubing . The weather started changing at midday. We drove through the longest (9km) and highest (above 10000 feet ) single tube tunnel in the world, in the Pari Panjal range of the mighty Himalayas. It was Empty (its always full ) , which means in a matter of minutes , the border roads organisation had shut it down and we had a feeling something had happened!!! As soon as we got out of the tunnel , we were stuck in a full fledged #snowstorm!!! Forget the littles , even I hadn’t experienced something like this ever before in my life . And we were stuck with many other cars on a downward slope up on a mountain …. 🥶 It was – 5 degrees Celsius at 2 pm.brrrrrrrr Thankfully we were always prepped for all sorts of mountain behaviours ( and yes, they are highly unpredictable ) and were in no danger in any way . Again , so much to be grateful for !!! In between So many crucial decisions and so much patience , the littles and me sat there staring at all what the mountains had to offer!!! The snowflakes fell one by one at first, but then their numbers increased, two by two, 10 by 10, then more than we could possibly count. If we would let go of the focus in our eyes , the falling show would look like a driving torrent of snowflakes,and they were . ❄️🌨️ We finally got home with all the lovely help from the mountain people there and some snow cutters too 😜 The immaculate but tough and a very slow drive through the icy slopes , trying so hard not to apply the break , not to skid , the littles on their full guard , ready for anything…. Waiting to tell their adventures to all back home while we cuddled up in each other’s warmth and thanked the almighty for yet another beautiful day!!! We made it and added some vital life skills while we were at it !!!
