Maci Bookout Instagram – Mav is my wild child. He wrestled hard all season long, won a ton of matches against really tough opponents and lost a couple heart breaking matches. He took his athleticism and “feel” that make him naturally a good wrestler, added some new skills he learned this year and really started to understand the sport. Maverick ended his season with a 27-5 record. He won the @tyrantwrestling Scuffle and competed at #tulsanationals for the very first time, coming up one match short of a medal and already has plans goals set for next year. Mav placed at every #TNAAU Top 100 tournament and placed 1st in his Region. After losing to a tough opponent in a very humbling match, he finished 3rd at the #TNAAU State Tournament! He is now a 2x #aauwrestling All American! I can only encourage him to celebrate his success and work toward eliminating those heartbreaking losses with hard work in the wrestling room. I can’t wait to see where his wrestling journey takes him! He is so much fun to coach and watch, albeit frustrating at times (we all know what he is capable of), because he really doesn’t take wrestling practice serious, but maybe that’s just the beauty in it all! Here’s to another year of being the meanest roly-poly in all of Tennessee!
