Nicole Seah Instagram – Selamat berbuka puasa! Pasukan EC telah membungkus bubur untuk blok sewa di Fengshan bersama sukarelawan AP Faisal di Kaki Bukit. Bubur itu sangat berbeza daripada yang biasa saya lihat dalam masakan Teochew dan Kantonis. Ini serupa dengan versi “jok” sup kambing yang sangat menyelerakan dan beraroma! Saya bertanya kepada rakan seperjuangan parti @abdulshariff.sg tentang asal usul bubur ini dan, sesuai dengan pengalamannya sebagai seorang bekas penyelidik, dia memberikan latarbelakang sejarah yang munasabah tentang tradisi ini. Ia mungkin bermula pada tahun 1949 di mana bubur dihidangkan kepada jemaah berbuka puasa di masjid. Pada masa-masa berikutnya, ia mula diedarkan kepada orang ramai secara percuma sepanjang bulan Ramadan. Dikenali sebagai Bubur Lambuk, ia juga mengandungi rempah yang menghangatkan dan berkhasiat seperti bunga lawang dan buah pelaga yang mempunyai khasiat kesihatan yang diakui. Bubur yang kami sajikan khususnya ini mendapat sambutan ramai kerana ia ditempah dari katering Hasan Rabit, sebuah toko makan yang termasyhur dan terkenal dengan briyaninya. Apabila kami menghantar bubur dan kurma kepada penduduk, mereka sangat teruja setiap kali kami menyebut nama Encik Hasan Rabit dan mengatakan bahawa mereka merasa senang sekali menerima bubur itu!
