Gushy alert/super rare post about my personal life 😬 it’s been one year infinite lifetimes with the man of my dreams, partner of my soul, love of all my lives 🥰🥰🥰 My bb is not on any social media, but I think the world deserves to knowwwww this man is such a hunk of genius! And he’s alllll mines. ☺️ and I’m alllll his. These pics are from @diaartfoundation gala last summer, where my love was a special guest of honor, recognized for being one of the most exciting young contemporary artists in the world. I can tell you firsthand, he works so hard and is so insanely smart and deserves every single bit of recognition he gets. And it’s only the beginning. @newbottega custom made this suit just for Matthew 😍 and I’m wearing my century-old silk dress from @commedesgarcons world archive collection. Again. Bc girl, it was expensive! Lol. Normalizing women re-wearing dresses like men re-wear the same suits! Swipe for some silliness. Matthew as the hulk and me with tissues stuffed in my pits because I’m such a little nervous, sweaty baby 😩 and a voice recording from like 2 seconds into our relationship where he demands I have his babies lol. His sexy voice 🤤 my bb is my best best best friend and I’ve never ever felt more accepted and alive and wow you really do know when you know. I hope everyone in the world can find a love like this. Open your hearts because it is so worth it when the right person comes in (and don’t worry – sometimes it takes a few tries but don’t give up!) I feel so lucky and blessed. Wow ok byeeee. I’m gonna dance across the room and make out with him now. 😏 he keeps looking over here and saying “what are you giggling about”

🥹 the power of sisterhood ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 @rosvamagazine is one of my favorite digital spaces and creative communities. It feels so cozy in my heart to be understood by people I actually admire and respect. Sometimes I get caught up in the tiny handful of trolls who aren’t anywhere near my level, allowing their lowness to bring me down. And then, like clockwork, my tribe shows up to uplift me and remind me that I am exactly what I am meant to be. My ancestors are always always always protecting me too. They are the fire that is my guiding light. Rage is an important activator. Rage can destroy our tendency to be apathetic or to ignore difficult things. But love can be an activator too. Remembering who we are fighting for, and not just who we are fighting against, is important too. For women, for life, for freedom. Anyone who is attacking Iranian women, out here trying to censor Iranian women and our freedom of thought and speech, should consider if they’re really fighting for Iranian women. Every community has its clowns. Iranians are no exception. We want so badly to be united in solidarity that we sometimes let these clowns in. But why stay at the circus, when the real revolution is going on outside. We’re not here to save the clowns. We’re here to save the queens. This gathering of Iranian women (which you can watch over at @rosvamagazine ), who are all so creative and bursting with life, reminded me that I am seen and the work I do is appreciated by those I do it all for. Gahhh what a giant mehmooni of love happening in my heart right now 🥰🥰🥰 I will never stop fighting to destroy our oppressors, but I will never stop fighting to create art and love tooooo. They go together! 💪 PS these videos have been edited in this choppy, jagged way as a tool to protect us from those who target us for our thoughts and words. We don’t enjoy this type of censorship, but we’d rather do it to ourselves than have others force it on us. And every oppressed/targeted group of peoples knows full well, you gotta do what you gotta do to stay safe while you fight. Until freedom.
Happy Chaharshanbeh Suri from the fire in my heart ❤️🔥 Tonight is the first night of a week long of Persian New Year celebrations, starting with a festival of fire called Chaharshanbeh Suri or “The Scarlet Wednesday.” It is celebrated by lighting fireworks and jumping over fire on the eve of the last Wednesday of the year, for purification before the New Year. You can jump over a little candle or small fire outside if you’d like to celebrate it and burn any leftover 2022 energy that needs to be purified 🥳🔥 Chaharshanbeh Suri comes from an ancient Iranian ritual, rooted in Zoroastrianism, that was celebrated to honor the spirits of the dead, which feels tragically appropriate this year. Ancient Iranians believed that during these last five days of the year, the spirits of the dead (including a specific category for “the souls of children and those who died without sin”) would reunite in joy. Maybe this year, their joy will involve revenge on their murderers. Beautiful artwork by @nazpainting who explains: “Time for revenge! Since I have been in Italy, I have been greatly influenced by the masterpieces of Italian artists and I am inspired by them so much. I used this masterpiece of #gentileschi (Judith Slaying Holofernes) to represent the suppressed anger of Iranian women for hundreds of years.”
