Gurudongmar lake is a sacred lake located amidst the magnificent Kanchenjunga and is a once in a lifetime experience! That’s if you can make it there. Oxygen levels are low here. Every taxi has to have an oxygen tank and cans. Generally 2N/3D is sufficient for Lachung and Lachen. The best season to visit Lachen is the onset of summer season which is right now!!! You see snow but it’s not as cold as winter. If you’re going, go soon before it melts! They oxygen level is very low but not so low that it will kill you instantly. Be careful! You can barely spend 10 mins at the lake, without feeling nauseous.
