Siobhan Williams Instagram – So amazing to be able to take these little baby fish (chum fry!) and release them out into the big wide world. These guys were raised in a hatchery to try to replenish fish populations which struggle everywhere nowadays due to habitat loss, overfishing, and climate change. Raising them in a hatchery gives them the best chance of surviving their most fragile ages, and now they are ready to make their journey to the ocean to become big grown up fishies. If you eat fish please try to find sustainably fished/not farmed fish. If you learn about the devastating impacts most methods of fish farming have, you realize how many additional animals are caught in nets or how much infectious disease they spread to our wild ecosystems.
