Caption : The love I have received for the last month or so is something i am forever indebted For those who know me…know what #BambaiMeriJaan meant for me… Its a process of more than 4years for me…with absolute commitment and belief that we were upto something special.. Still remember testing @castingbay for it on 7th feb 2019 just 2 days before i went to shoot #Bulbbul. i got a confirmation call only by late September 2019,Meeting my Director @shujaatsaudagar in end of October to finally jumping into it on 1st November 2019 when i cut my moustache and started exploring this guy Dara Ismail Kadri… On this journey,decided to gain weight,grow hair,no vanity,no grooming to ensure tht he never appeared desirable(so much for glorifying nd making a hero outta a true ‘G’) We started shooting by Feb 2020 only to be stopped by a lockdown…the huge set( built on an approx. 8acres land piece in Madh) dismantled for the first time during rains of 2020. We could rebuild the whole set to resume shoot only by Feb 2021(While all actors maintaining their looks and the entire crew exhibiting their integrity and commitment of the highest order) Unfortunately we were affected by another lockdown in 2021 and then 40% of the set blew up during the cyclone of June 2021…Destroying all our hopes and efforts to make this Epic Saga come to reality. I am generally a very optimistic guy but to believe that a project of this stature, magnitude,budget mounted on my shoulder would see the light after repeated damages and loss would be absolutely delusional. I can’t thank @primevideoin @excelmovies to stand by the potential they saw. This show has been a personal journey of dreams,aspirations…taking Indian Film/Shows/Content at a Global level… It has given me a confidence that we are now ready for the world to consume our films like we have until now… Never in the history of our Film Industry could we reach to more than 200 countries and if this does not inspire every creator in this country to ensure we scale ourselves to a Global level i dont know what will. Caption : Khakee -The Bihar Chapter The love received for the show and especially my part of Chandan Mahto makes me indebted to all of you. The joy it has brought to my near and dear ones is my biggest accomplishment. I still remember reading the script and shitting bricks.I had all the apprehensions in the world of being able to pull this of.. Not only did i question my capability but also the fact that i may not be accepted as Chandan Mahto I am forever indebted to @neerajpofficial Sir to pump in my confidence and make me believe in myself as much as he did…This will stay with me for life Sir🤗 @bhav.dhulia I would like to believe Chandan Mahto could not have been what it became unless you allowed me the freedom to constantly keep exploring and its only your guiding hands that i owe my performance to. The earlier grind of just sitting in the hard sun with the truck drivers to driving the truck regularly to feel like i am one of them to finally getting on floor with one of my most difficult shoots coz of the terrain and resources we had.Its been one fulfilling journey I want to take this opportunity to thank 2 of my most important team members @tush_makeup_art 1)Tushar, the detailing of your makeup from the skin tone to the hair to the tainted teeth, everything has been widely appreciated and you should be extremely proud of yourself. 2)@iftikharalam196 Nanhe bhai i want you to know that I would not have been able to finish the shoot with all the injuries and hardships if you were not around.I would think its magic that you would know i need water before i felt thirsty…i had something to eat before i realised i am hungry…the smallest of ways that you took care of me makes me full of gratitude. Thank you always. Lastly, @karantacker I still remember being completely flummoxed at how we would do the climax scene until you walked in for the reading with such sincerity and integrity that it really made me pull my socks up You set the tone and i responded well…its something tht one wishes on every set and i am so glad that I had you on the other side of tht table to make this a jugalbandi to remember. Its very rare to be part of a film wherein every facet of the film is acknowledged and appreciated equally. Thank you @anvita_dee for making me a part of this beautiful film which has ignited so many conversations. One of the many conversations I have had with close friends and family, because there I can speak my mind freely, revolves around patriarchy. One of the major reasons I signed on was that I wanted to see what Satya would bring to the film. At the end of the film, Bulbbul calls out Satya as one of the patriarchs in the film… she tells him, ‘Tum Sab Ek Jaise Ho’. That’s the conversation that’s been happening around me… was Satya patriarchal? What did he really do wrong? Most men around me identify themselves as being like Satya… he’s someone who doesn’t really do things wrong, but still becomes an oppressor/ patriarchal because of the conditioning that most men have. I kept debating with Anvita(Someone i truly vale and respect) about it… Honestly, I kept thinking that Satya was doing everything right, until Anvita said that, ‘Avinash, maybe you need to acknowledge that you are a closet patriarch yourself’. It’s not very easy to accept that… I am still fighting it but I am willing to understand that I may be wrong about it. I am happy that at least people around me are having a conversation about it. When that conversation becomes a public discourse, that’s when things will get interesting and a change will happen. I truly feel that I am a feminist coz i believe in equal opportunities for everyone and the day I can acknowledge that I am actually a closet patriarch is when that shift will happen, at least within me. All the other emotions are like the unwanted child, You have them, but they never gain your indulgence… Since childhood, one is made to embark on a journey in ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’ This imaginary , illusionary state of being where everything feels right. One wonders what makes us have this step-treatment with the other emotions? Why do we not aim to pursue a wholesome life? Why have we not given equal value and worth to all emotions? हे पुरुषश्रेष्ठ (अर्जुन)! जो पुरुष सुख तथा दुख में समभाव(equanimity) रहता है, वह निश्चित रूप से मुक्ति के योग्य है This idea has been a part of our culture since the time of Gita, and yet, somewhere in our evolution and the idea of growth we have been exploited with the idea of the ‘Pursuit of Happiness’. I see us fight for inclusivity and I find it most important to fight for the inclusivity of all emotions. We need to NORMALISE ALL EMOTIONS! We need to desire them and accept them as they are. Caption : In this bewildering social reward theater, the likes of Usain Bolt, the world’s fastest sprinter, stand tall as universally acclaimed stars. His name echoes in every corner of the globe, a testament to his sheer speed and charisma. Yet, in the shadows, resides a Tyson Gay, trailing Bolt by a mere 0.10 seconds in the 100-meter sprint. A small difference in time, you might think, but what’s astonishing is the world’s indifference to this remarkable athlete. It’s as if the height difference of 7 inches( Ussain Bolt 6feet 5in and Tyson Gay 5feet 10in) that separates them has cast a veil over Gay’s achievements, forcing him to take more strides(46 strides in comparison to 41strides for Bolt to complete 100m)in his journey toward recognition in a world obsessed with the perceived giants of the track.
