Elijah Canlas Instagram – About Us But Not About Us won big at the 1st Summer MMFF Awards Night. I was just so happy and proud of our team — most of which were deservedly awarded last night. Out of nowhere, my name was called. I honestly don’t remember what I said onstage last night. So If I may… Maraming salamat sa Summer MMFF para sa parangal na ito. Sa lahat ng bumubuo ng jury. I’m extremely grateful. To god. To my parents, for supporting me through thick and thin and allowing me to pursue what I love to do. To my brothers, especially my kuya for helping me unitize my script and physicalize the characters. To my Camille, for helping me memorize and throwing lines with me for four straight days. To everyone who’s supported and believed in me, maraming maraming salamat. To direk Jun, direk Perci, Atty. Joji, and kuya Ferdy — for always believing in me and making this film a reality. Especially direk Jun and direk Perci, for pushing me and challenging me to be better. To the entire team — for being the best in your work, building this world, and making our job easier. And Kuya Romnick, for being the kindest and collaborating with me to serve truth to our scenes. Couldn’t have asked for a better scene partner. I just want to dedicate this to my dear friend who recently passed. If you are experiencing any form of mental health problem, please don’t hesitate to seek help from your friends, family or professionals. Kapit lang. And to everyone else — depression is real. Stop the stigma. And I think we could all be better in being there for each other. Let’s all try to be kinder. Bubuti din lahat.
