Rouzbeh Rashidi Instagram – We had a fantastic time screening the programme @experimentalfilmsociety curated in collaboration with @feminista.berlin to a full sold-out house. Indeed an astonishing series of short films, and I am honoured to have had the opportunity to present these films in Berlin. The programme focused on five films by five Iranian women* living in exile, and we dissected the process of each film afterwards in an intimate question-and-answer session. Thanks a million to all the wonderful audience who attended and supported our cause. Special thanks to Maryam Katan, Nazgol Kashani, Yasaman Pishvaei, Atoosa Pour Hosseini and Anahita Safarnejad for their superb films.

My personal gratitude goes to Anahita for her extraordinary energy, kindness and marvellous creativity. She’s a dear friend, and I look forward to our future collaborations. Onwards!

Rouzbeh Rashidi Instagram – A very decisive and crucial moment in the history of the Middle East and Iran. The country is massively torn apart between clerical and monarchal fanaticism to an extreme level. Both of which are a kind of zealotry in pursuit of absolute oblivion. The two doctrines are two sides of the same coin.

We emancipate because we need to emancipate in the dialectical progression of our time. “Every emancipation is a restoration of the human world and human relationships to a human herself/himself.”
