Samuel L. Jackson Instagram – Today is International Firefighters’ Day (IFFD). In celebration of IFFD, tomorrow the Leary Firefighters Foundation will be hosting The Seventh Annual Denis Leary FDNY Firefighter Challenge at The FDNY Training Academy known as “The Rock.” This event has raised much-needed funds allowing us to provide new equipment, vehicles, training, and technology to 190 fire departments in 47 states. Firefighters never go on strike and therefore they are often the first departments to suffer budget cuts. The lack of funding and the limited resources they receive are now even more prevalent as the cities and towns across America deal with pandemic related financial issues.
