Trans kids deserve to grow up. My people have always found a way to survive. Since ancient times. Through fire and fists and hate as loud as a church. They will always find some inane logic to wrap around their hate. Around their disgust. Dress it up in children’s clothes and call it protection. Dress it up in women’s rights and call it prevention. But our logic comes back louder. Always. Because our logic is the logic of nature. Is the logic of beauty. Our existence makes perfect sense. Our bodies, our spirits; they have always been. They have always been a necessary part of the world’s turning. A part of nature as true as god. So, try and burn us, but you will find our fluidity in the sea, our phoenix ash in the earth, our expansiveness in the sky. I will fight for my brothers and sisters and siblings til the end. Until there is no fear or shame in our hearts. I will fight with kindness. I will fight with rage. I will fight with fists. We deserve peace. Stop trying to kill us. We are trying to free you.

@carlosbob painted me and it got in to the Archibald 🥹 I feel so honoured and so proud. The dialogue around trans people is so fucked at the moment. So it’s nice to celebrate a win like this. Thank you @carlosbob 🫶🏽 you can go see the exhibition at @artgalleryofnsw 6 May – 3 September.

so much power in the pouring rain. so moving to see all the intersections of support and solidarity. “No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us.” – Marsha P. Johnson

An urgent summary of the times we are living in. Please watch. “By hiding your big bigotry behind children like cowards, you will find yourself on the wrong side of history. By manipulating the words of an ancient text, and shoehorning it into legislation aimed at an at-risk minority population, you liken yourselves to another group that gained popularity in Germany in the 1930s. And if you have ever wondered what you would’ve done had you been a member of the so called Greatest Generation, then simply look at what you are doing in this moment.” – Lorén Perkins. Thank you for the eloquence in your rage. And, as my love @sheacoulee put so perfectly, “Shout out to the black woman for physically putting herself on the line to protect Lorén from being silenced on the floor. This is what intersectional feminism and activism looks like.”
