Aishwarya Sakhuja Instagram – 1. Green leafy vegetables are low in calories and are low in carbohydrates. They are rich in fibre hence they keep your blood sugar in check. My go to leaves are moringa leaves and I swear by them.
2. Whole grains are the best bet for us diabetics. Again richer in fibre and nutrients as compared to your processed grains. Say a big no no to basmati rice and maida. Low glycemic index helps in controlling blood sugar
3. Berries are rich in antioxidants. I always opt for berries which are seasonal. These days I cant get enough of jamun
4. Beans are low in glycemic index hence wouldnt cause any spike in your blood glucose.
