ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട കേരളാ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിക്ക്,
വൈപ്പിന്കരയെ വന്കരയുമായി ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പാലം എന്നത് ഞങ്ങളുടെ മുന്തലമുറകളുടെ സ്വപ്നത്തില്പോലും ഇല്ലാതിരുന്ന കാലത്ത് അങ്ങനൊരു സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ വിത്ത് വൈപ്പിന്കരയുടെ മനസ്സില് പാകിയത് ആ വലിയ മനുഷ്യനാണ്, സഹോദരന് അയ്യപ്പന്.
വൈപ്പിന്കരക്കാരുടെ ചിരകാല സ്വപ്നമായിരുന്ന ഗോശ്രീ പാലങ്ങള് യാഥാര്ത്ഥ്യമായിട്ട് 18 വര്ഷങ്ങള് തികഞ്ഞു. പാലങ്ങള് വന്നാല്, അഴിമുഖത്തുകൂടിയുള്ള അപകടം തുറിച്ചുനോക്കുന്ന യാത്രയില് നിന്നും ഞങ്ങള്ക്ക് മോചനം ലഭിക്കുമെന്നും കൊച്ചി നഗരത്തിലെ വിവിധ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ബസ്സില് നേരിട്ടെത്താമെന്നും മോഹിച്ചിരുന്നു. പാലം വന്നു, ബസ്സുകളും വന്നു. പക്ഷേ വൈപ്പിന്കരക്കാരെ ഇന്നും നഗരത്തിന്റെ പടിവാതില്ക്കല് നിര്ത്തിയിരിക്കയാണ്. ഞങ്ങള് ഹൈക്കോടതിക്കവലയില് ബസ്സിറങ്ങി അടുത്ത ബസ് സ്റ്റോപ്പിലേക്ക് നടന്ന് മറ്റൊരു ബസ്സില് കയറി വേണം നഗരത്തിലെ വിവിധ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്കു പോകുവാന്. സെന്റ് തെരേസാസില് വിദ്യാര്ത്ഥിയായിരുന്ന കാലം മുഴുവന് ഈ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ട് ഞാനും അനുഭവിച്ചതാണ്.
ജില്ലയുടെ എല്ലാ ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നും നഗരത്തിലേക്ക് ബസ്സുകള് വരുന്നു. വൈപ്പിന് ബസ്സുകള്ക്കുമാത്രം നഗരത്തിലേക്കു പ്രവേശനമില്ല.
നഗരത്തിനുള്ളില്ത്തന്നെയുള്ള വിവിധ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലെത്തേണ്ടവര് ഹൈക്കോടതി കവലയില് ബസ്സിറങ്ങി അടുത്ത ബസ്സില് ലക്ഷ്യസ്ഥാനത്തെത്തുന്നതിന് വേണ്ടി വരുന്ന അധികച്ചെലവ് പലര്ക്കും താങ്ങാനാവുന്നതിലുമധികമാണ്. പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് നഗരത്തിലെ ടെക്സ്റ്റൈല് ഷോപ്പുകളിലും മറ്റു വ്യാപാരസ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലും ജോലിചെയ്യുന്ന കുറഞ്ഞ വരുമാനക്കാരായ ആയിരക്കണക്കിന് സ്ത്രീകള്ക്ക്.
വൈപ്പിന് ബസ്സുകളുടെ നഗരപ്രവേശം നേടിയെടുക്കുന്നതിനായി വൈപ്പിന് നിവാസികള് കഴിഞ്ഞ 18 വര്ഷമായി നിരന്തര സമരത്തിലാണ്. വൈപ്പിന് ബസ്സുകള്ക്ക് നഗരപ്രവേശം അനുവദിക്കണോ എന്ന കാര്യത്തില് നാറ്റ്പാക് ഒരു പഠനം നടത്തി റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് നല്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് നഗരപ്രവേശത്തിന് അനുകൂലമാണെന്ന് അറിയുന്നു. മാത്രമല്ല, വൈപ്പിന് ബസ്സുകള് നഗരത്തില് പ്രവേശിച്ചാല്, വൈപ്പിനില് നിന്നും ദിവസവും നഗരത്തിലേക്കു വന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന കാറുകളുടെയും ഇരുചക്രവാഹനങ്ങളുടെയും എണ്ണത്തില് സാരമായ കുറവുണ്ടാവുമെന്നും തന്മൂലം നഗരത്തിലെ വാഹനത്തിരക്ക് കുറയാനാണിടയെന്നും റിപ്പോര്ട്ട് പറയുന്നു.
വൈപ്പിന്കരയോടുള്ള അവഗണന ഒരു തുടര്ക്കഥയായി മാറുന്നു.
