Anusha Dandekar Instagram – A little story and an Appreciation post…

As a host, I sometimes feel its the most underrated job in the entertainment industry… thinking quick, last minute script changes, constant chaos behind the scenes and during, moody people🫣, while you keep your spirits high at all times even if you don’t feel it, no one will ever know… the production team either being incredible, like the teams at GQ & Filmfare. Or they can be such bullies, they don’t value you & your talent at all… and you cry and scream and feel frustrated and still the show goes on, without anyone ever knowing a thing. And not to mention that whatever does go wrong is always the hosts fault! We aren’t there after to defend ourselves!
Then after your hard work, people troll you not knowing what is actually happening on red carpets or stage and constantly waiting for a dramatic moment. When our actual drama is, lights going off, mics going off, killing time onstage with no script because they need more time backstage, being given incorrect information or names! All while standing in 6 inch heels for 6 to 16hrs, depending on the event and never forgetting to Smile!

Also, some love to be interviewed by you, some feel shy, some run away for many different reasons, some we have to refuse…

And with all of that happening, it is pretty rare that I co-host with someone! So it can be kinda lonely, and I still get kinda nervous and really appreciate when a show goes smooth, everyone loves your work, sends you msgs, even till date! And I can handle it all on my own, always have been confident to do so… yet the other night I had @karanwahi who I can honestly say, saved the day. He was just as high energy, so hilarious, made everything a little less chaotic in the madness and crowded red carpet… and having a co-host like him was just the BEST… we were the loudest, craziest in the room and time flew by in my six inch heels! So I just wanted to say Thankyou so much KW, you are a DREAM to work with from Dusk to Dawn! 🥹🫠
