When you’ve been deeply hurt and betrayed, you try to equip yourself from any potential threats to your heart again. You attempt to control all narratives when you will NEVER be able to dictate every outcome no matter how hard you fight to. It’s easy to walk away, to shut people out, and go back to doing what makes you feel safe. Unfortunately, there’s no growth in that. Going back in your turtle shell just assures you that the turtle shell is all you’ll ever know 🐢
It’s fascinating to me how accustomed we’ve become to isolating ourselves from connection when connection is the one thing we crave the most.
