For a while now, I’ve been feeling anxious that maybe I didn’t have anything more to say as a songwriter. Or even worse, nothing more to say in an interesting way. I struggled to write lyrics that I felt connected to. Nothing seemed to inspire me. I’d watch films, read books, meet new people in LA, but when I got back to the empty page I still felt empty, too. Being in Austin, tucked away in a little cottage with my dearest friends, has been quite a surprising experience. Almost like I forgot we flew out here to write a record. It feels more like an epic slumber party. Late movie nights. Long conversations about love and what our top five movies are. Dancing. Laughing. Coffee runs. Walks by the river. Therapy sessions. Passing the BBQ sauce. Screaming at the TV while watching some cheap reality show. Sitting on the porch talking about touring in our teens. And somehow, we’ve already written 8 songs. Like Magic. Dia Frampton Instagram – Over the past 18 years, with all my ups and downs, this band has always been a constant support for me. It’s brought me so much joy, laughter, love, and community. It has taught me patience, gratitude, responsibility and how to drive a van and trailer in the winter in Canada. 😝 I am so grateful for this band family and cannot wait to share the new @meganddiamusic record with ya’ll. (Ya, I say ya’ll now cause we’re in Texas, baby!)
