Like German gossip culture in bureaucracy 🙉 Never thought those two would go together…but here I am. Wanting to get my daughter a German passport like me, I’m confronted with an eager Embassy employee who googled me and found a false write up on Wikipedia (!!!) that says I’m an American citizen, even though I have a green card and a German passport (and who doesn’t know that Wikipedia is totally unreliable and literally anyone can edit!?!) and no immigration lawyer’s letter or prove of my documents is she to be deterred that NO, somewhere, somehow I MUST have requested American citizenship since it’s on the Internet and now I have to request some paper “of non exist”from the American government to prove to them, indeed, I just have green card and I have not tried to become an American. Not even my lawyer had ever even heard of such a paper….I mean…PEOPLE!!!! The internet gossip pages are STRONG ! Next I will have to prove that Nova actually came out of my body since I have read rumors she might not have. Omg and her birthday is always falsely listed too 🙉🙉🙉 I am so f…..! Maybe that passport is not worth it after all…dunno, I’m still debating…wine does help. Please send (but don’t write about it on the internet please, ridiculous fact checking is high with my government apparently)Also….WHY WOULD I LIE ABOUT THAT ? So insane

I’m writing these words to honor my friend Edward who left us while feeling inconsolable desperation last Friday. Edward was a steady presence in my life from the time I started in this business, one of kindness, of compassion…the last time I ran into him in the streets of New York, I thought he looked sad and he wasn’t his usual self. He told me how much the pandemic and isolation had affected him…looking back, I wish I had called him more often, even when I wasn’t in the country or busy with the family and work. We never know what people are going through behind closed doors and this is just a terribly sad reminder of that. I will miss you Ed..and I will always remember you fondly. I hope you rest easy now…my thoughts go out to your mom and your sister who you loved so so much…😑
