Lena Dunham Instagram – Happy Mother’s Day to the baddest bitch, boldest beauty and bestest pal a girl could dream of popping out the body of. Grateful every day I was plucked out of the cosmos and into your home. Thank you for always picking up the phone no matter the hour, being expert in case of emergency and showing me that the only way to go is through and on and on. You are many essays worth of genius and many sitcoms worth of funny. But mostly, @lauriesimmons, you are my moomy.
Lena Dunham Instagram – Being a screenwriter is the best and luckiest job I could have imagined. So many of my heroes are screenwriters like Nora, always Nora, who took such pride in this gig and treated it like a true 9-5. It’s a job that requires imagination, diligence and perseverance. I’m proud that we have a strong and supportive union, one that historically goes above and beyond for its members, and when we come together and decide to strike we aren’t just doing it for ourselves but for all future members. I want screenwriting to remain a viable career choice for those called to this path, and for my fellow guild members to be safe, secure and inspired. So, my pencil (aka laptop) is down and picket signs/knitting needles up.
