Home Actress Nandita Das HD Photos and Wallpapers May 2023 Nandita Das Instagram - The Dodge Hall was packed at Columbia University on a Monday evening, with people sitting on steps and extra chairs that were added. It was a small space, so that was expected. But the overwhelmingly positive response to Zwigato and that too from a very discerning audience, was more than what I expected. The motley crowd had professors, students, film makers and aficionados, writers, scientists, doctors and more. It was delightful that friends in NY/NJ came - Mehreen Jabbar, Azra Raza, Sabrina Dhawan, Alaka Basu, Ali Mir Hussain, Aroon Shivdasani, Dev Benegal and many more. I even had Daniel Kahneman and Barbara Tversky in the audience who treated Vihaan, Azra apa and me to a lovely dinner before the screening. Debashree Mukherjee, Prof. Of South Asian and African studies, moderated the post screening discussion. Many asked question that I had never answered before. Such interactions gives me an opportunity to examine my own instincts. Why I do what I do?! It takes several screenings and with different audiences to truly know that the film is actually resonating. I am happy! #Zwigato @applausesocial @kapilsharma @shahanagoswami

Nandita Das Instagram – Last screening of Zwigato in the US was at Brown University. Some of you are probably bored of these posts. But for me this space is my diary, lest I forget. And a good way to share with those who want to know what and how I am doing. It saves me time on emails and WhatsApp with friends and family! So bear with me please. The 3rd and final screening was just as gratifying. With wide ranging questions about my cinematic choices to dissecting the gig economy- campus minds have them all! Thank you Prof. Ashutosh Varshney for inviting me and Prof. Vazira Zamindar for the post screening conversation. And to not-so-little son for capturing it! @brownu #zwigato @applausesocial @kapilsharma @shahanagoswami
Nandita Das Instagram – Today I am remembering Manto and Safia, who share their birthdays with each other. I am grateful to the family – their three daughters and to Zakia khala, Safia’s sister. Many of their stories found their way into the script. The family is very dear to me.

The journey of making Manto impacted me so deeply that I wrote an entire book. My one and only yet. It chronicles the journey of making the film. But it is more than that. Wish I could narrate it in an audiobook. I would love to live that time again!

PS. Sorry Manto Sahab and Safia bibi for referring to you both by your first name, but then, I knew you as my characters first! Hope you liked seeing yourself in Nawaz and Rasika!
I sure did.

Janamdin Mubarak!
