Nandita Das Instagram – Today I am remembering Manto and Safia, who share their birthdays with each other. I am grateful to the family – their three daughters and to Zakia khala, Safia’s sister. Many of their stories found their way into the script. The family is very dear to me. The journey of making Manto impacted me so deeply that I wrote an entire book. My one and only yet. It chronicles the journey of making the film. But it is more than that. Wish I could narrate it in an audiobook. I would love to live that time again! PS.
