When are we “too big” to find the value in ourselves? for others to find the value in us? to model high end or walk runways in a non performative way? to be seen as more than a “before” photo? to be loved? valued? respected???
I never fathomed when I had the word “supermodel” and “ pioneer” attached to me that over a decade later I would still be looking around wondering when the industry was going to stop telling me my body still isn’t for fashion.
Everyone wants my opinion on how the fashion industry is evolving and why are we still aren’t seeing major change, while simultaneously continuing to use the same body types and erasing the word plus size for “curvy” so there isn’t any confusion. Fat is still “bad” and we are punished for it constantly.
