Aaron Toney Instagram – #tb #wakandaforever looking back at some of the work we did. I forgot this moment almost didn’t happen. I’ve got a habit of coming up with moments on the spot. Some people get annoyed by this cause it affect multiple departments, which I completely try to avoid. But when a producer is asking for a moment and you have nothing then you have to improvise.
Such was the case with this moment seeing Shuri come out the gate, guns blazing.
The powers that be were having a meeting and they wanted something that really showcased what makes Shuri different from T’challa. So I threw out this idea with her combining the agility of the suit with her tech skills. At first this moment got laughed at cause when they asked if it had been rehearsed, I simply replied no! To which I got glares from some people. 😅. Then we went to work, quickly working it out as I knew @nadiaalorencz could pull it off, with the help of our amazing rigging team David Huggins as the lead 💪🏾, and we had our moment for Shuri. The rest is history. Moral of the story.
Don’t be afraid to put your ideas out there no matter how silly they might seem. Ideas are just that. Ideas. They might not always pan out in the moment but that’s part of the process of growing. You check in with one idea. If it doesn’t work, you move on. Now don’t go throwing all your ideas at everyone just because you heard this from an IG post. Other moral of the story is to be bold and try things when appropriate, and continue to develop your flow. It will all work itself out. ☺️🙏🏾 #bebold #flow #marvel #mcu #stunt #actiondesign #fights #fightcoordinator #bts
Bonus animation clip I did for reshoots to show what a potential flow for Shuri working threw Talocanil could look like. Had fun with this, might do sound for it later. 😊👾
P.S. Thank you to our amazing VFX team lead by Geoffrey Baumann for the awesome animation into the live action work. Loved this moment. | Posted on 04/Apr/2023 23:31:09
