Amoghavarsha Instagram – Throwback to this photograph that was a wallpaper on my phone for quite some time. One day, my mom glanced at it and exclaimed, “You have a Ganesha wallpaper!” It was then that I realized, from a distance, the image resembled the silhouette of Lord Ganesha.
It struck me deeply how our culture finds divinity in both the grand and the minute. We revere elephants, snakes, frogs, trees, and so much more as gods. We have embraced the profound belief that “we are the universe, and the universe is us.” From this simple yet profound understanding, we derive wisdom about life and coexistence.
At a spiritual level, we recognize the intrinsic equality and significance of all living beings. Scientifically, we understand that the absence of an ant or a frog would disrupt the delicate balance of nature. A rat snake keeps the rodent that raids village homes in check. Birds feed on the insects that plague paddy fields. Life thrives through interconnectedness.
As a culture, we have embraced the concept of God in nature itself, for nature is the embodiment of divinity.
