Bahamians don’t walk into a room, they don’t strut into a room, they GLIDE. And my goodness, how their laughter lights up any room that they glide into. It was my Father’s love of Mr. Poitier that made me want to be an actor. From THE DEFIANT ONES, A RAISIN IN THE SUN, LILIES OF THE FIELD, TO SIR, WITH LOVE, IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT and on and on and on. He was a chameleon on screen but always managed to instill every character he portrayed with dignity, class and searing intelligence. He made US proud.
