Daniel Barenboim Instagram – Today Daniel Barenboim was named an honorary citizen of Berlin in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the city’s cultural landscape.
Mayor Franziska Giffey said that Barenboim “demonstrates incomparable mastery both at the grand piano and at the conductor’s stand,” telling Barenboim that “as an artist and as a person, you are truly a figure of the century.”
