Francis Ford Coppola Instagram – Talking about the scene on the set of The Outsiders VS talking about the scene on the set of @megalopolisfilm 40 years later.

On The Outsiders, I deliberately divided the actors into two groups on set – the Greasers and the Socs, so that their living conditions, meals and housing were ‘priviledged’ or ‘disadvantaged’, breeding the sense of inequality in the book. In the mornings, we all did Tai Chi with a professional instructor together every working day, to also build a sense of togetherness. My way of working tries to give actors an advantage any way possible.
Francis Ford Coppola Instagram – The first photo is from the set of The Godfather Part II, filming a birds-eye shot. The second, is a crane rig on the set of @megalopolisfilm 50 years later.

Although The Godfather Part II was complex, involving seven time-periods/settings: Lake Tahoe, old NYC, new NYC, Hollywood, Las Vegas, Havana and Sicily – it was the most smooth making of all my films.
