Guy Martin Instagram – From 9.28pm on 16 May 1943, 133 aircrew in 19 Lancasters took off in a daring mission named Operation Chastise. Despite the Dambusters raid being regarded as a success, nearly half the men who took part did not make it home to their families. An estimated 1,600 civilians and prisoners of war were also sadly killed in this raid. We must never forget. Guy had the honour of spending some time with Squadron Leader George ‘Johnny ‘Johnson, what he said we will remain with Guy forever. May he rest in peace.
