Joe Lo Truglio Instagram – In 2014, my friends, Dad, and brother went to Ireland. In Donegal, we descended on a pub and rubbed elbows with the kindest, warmest, most charming bunch of locals who with we quickly sloshed Guinness and Jameson’s. After enjoying the local musicians playing their guitars, Boehm flutes, and Bodhrán (green sweater guy’s drum), my friend Entcho, a Romanian virtuoso, asked to play a song on his violin. He told the group he’d start with a traditional Romanian piece but they’d know exactly when to join. And as you hear, they did, and the spirit of the room lifted all of us. I wish I could fit Entcho’s longer intro because the turn to the Irish jig is that much more exciting, but you get the jist. I miss Ireland dearly and can’t wait to get back.
