Kyle Schmid Instagram – Warning *** Epic dive trip in Fiji! It was a first for me, diving with sharks. They’re incredible creatures, majestic in every way. Diving into the open ocean about 23 meters down my eyes adjusted and there were a couple black-tips, a white-tip and about two dozen bull sharks! It was unnerving at first, but diving leaves you with a sense of calm. I have to say, I totally understand the allure now despite an unconventional experience… Open water dives with these apex predators are never totally safe and the protege to our dive leader found out the hard way when he fumbled a tuna head into his body and a 7ft bull shark continued after it. Watching him race to the surface and seeing the crew boat take off to shore made for an anxious 2nd dive but luckily he was alright. Huge thanks to @dr_cpalmer for sharing shots.
