Murat Boz Instagram – Inspired by Dostoevsky’s “The Double,” Derin Mevzular (Deep Issues) tells the tale of a white collar office drone who leads the most monotonous of lives. He is invisible, viewed with pity and contempt in the banal spaces he occupies. One night, smoking, drinking, watching TV, he sees HIMSELF as a wanted criminal in a breaking news broadcast. Initially surprised, he is soon hypnotized by his alter ego’s illicit activities. As he “fantasizes” about his Doppelgänger, a lothario who represents everything he is not—a sexy criminal mastermind as compared to the boring dude who mans the printer at the office—the line between fantasy and reality blurs. Does he really have a Doppelgänger living a sex- and violence-filled Hollywood life? Or is this merely a dream of a ridiculous man?
