When I was pregnant with Akira, I heard about many traumatic birth experience of so many women I knew and so many other women I didn’t know of. I knew what I didn’t want. Experiencing not just one but TWO empowering , respectful maternity care makes me feel so blessed and I’m truly grateful for my Midwife Dr. Vijaya Ma’am @sanctumbirthcenter !! ♥️🌸 I’m uploading the most precious moments of our lives hoping that many more people educate themselves & many more care providers provide this kind of respectful maternity for every single women , all over the world. I’m repeating what I wrote when I posted Akira’s birth video. Yes, every single minute there’s someone in the world giving birth. That’s how common it is! Many may feel that it’s normal & not a big deal because they didn’t face issues. From the bottom of my heart, I’m happy for them. But that does not give anyone the right belittle someone else’s experience/ trauma or pain. Choose the right care provider who lets you ask questions no matter how silly or trivial it may sound. It’s your right& you can’t be denied of that. If they shun your questions or shame you for asking so , don’t waste your time. Find someone who is at your same wavelength. Educate yourself before getting into such a huge decision. This is why we are forever grateful to @mayas_amma for educating so many people like us. This is not just about natural birth. This is about being informed about the kinds of birth available, knowing the pros & cons AND THEN choosing what’s best for you irrespective of natural birth or Csection. You can get married & if it does not work out , you can walk out of your marriage. But you cannot Un-have a child.
