Adrienne C. Moore Instagram – Happy season 3 to @prettyhardcases When I began this journey, now 3 years ago, I had no idea what was in store. A secret, I visited CA with family back in 2018 and I made a wish to Niagara Falls that I would return some day to hopefully live and work there. Who would’ve thought 2019 would bring that to fruition. Being hired was literally a DREAM COME TRUE! But I had no idea what lay ahead. I knew I wanted the opportunity to prove to myself, this industry, the world that a full figured, natural haired and middle aged Black woman could lead a show. I wanted to prove that she could have range. That she could be funny and heartbreaking, complex yet simple. Kelly Duff was the genius creation of @tassievcameron and @streely and they have allowed me to bring her to life. And playing a cop has been a lesson learned. I feel like I just want to get it right. To portray the reality of what police face on a daily basis. They are regular people too, and most want to be seen as such. It was always my hope that portraying a cop, and a black one at that, would restore/build some type of trust and community between themselves and the people they’ve agreed to serve and protect. This season I wanted to explore all those nuances. I wanted to look at positive examples of #blacklove, the complex struggle of being a cop and a civilian as well. And what happens when those worlds collide. Thank you @cameronpicstv and the writers for always allowing me to be a part of the conversation; the cast and especially the crew who made this season.
