Aksha Pardasany Instagram – Everyone has a story, and this is mine.
5 days before I was supposed to start shooting for #Rafuchakkar I had an accident that almost, almost changed my life. My eyelid was torn, my eye was swollen and I had blood clots in my eyes. My hand was injured and I still have bruises which are probably permanent. For an actor to have something so drastic happen to their face, you can only imagine what I went through physically, and more importantly emotionally. My face is my bread and butter, and also a way to achieve everything I have imagined for myself. I was on steroids, I went through eye surgery and I was on heavy painkillers.
But this post is not about that. This post is me giving myself a pat on the back, because no matter what, 5 days after my accident, I showed up on set. And I did my job. To my best ability. With a smiling face. I was demoralised, drained and had lost every bit of confidence in myself, what with a swollen black eye, facing a crew of 300 people. And performing. When you watch the series and if my eye looks different to you’ll, please remember, I did this so we can deliver a kickass show for you, our audience, on schedule.
I don’t seek validation from anyone around me, I’m self assured and I will forever be proud of what I did. I faced the camera with a black and swollen eye. And when I have grand kids and I show them the work I’ve done, this one will be something I’ll be talking about, because whether anyone else is proud of me or not, I am.
Note to self. Be proud Aksha. Always be proud. For showing up, for your crew, and for your audience, and more importantly, for yourself.
