Alexis Nikole Nelson Instagram – The sole tiktok I made during the Great Lakes Foragers Gathering (I was too busy learning, teaching, snacking, making new friends, and frolicking to make any more!) I’m glad I was surrounded by nature and kindred spirits when the Roe news dropped, otherwise I probably would’ve spiraled harder than I already did… as a 30 year old with a busy schedule, who is (at least currently) planning on remaining childless, I’m scared. I’m taking some time to sit with my feelings, while also reflecting on the moments of sheer joy I managed to find among friends, both human and plant, this past weekend. For anyone worried about animals in the pond, the fish were nice and I gave the snapping turtle Maurice his space 😅 also according to my buddy Sam Thayer, snappers don’t really bite in the water anyway (unless you, like, step on them 😆)
