Alie Ward Instagram – When I was volunteering at @nhmla, I made #WillowhutWednesday posts and though @lalovejoyart’s woven house is no longer there, they saved me a twig from it which is on my office wall. When an oak recently fell in our yard, I tried to make my own little lampshade out of the green branches as an annex to the place I love. Also here’s a photodump from our stunning garden since @wildyardsproject’s David Newsom has been a fairy godfather turning a dry hillside of invasive weeds into a native pollinator paradise. Stay tuned for an @ologies episode on native bees with THE Krystle Hickman, aka @beesip, who I am just blown away by. She’s amazingly talented and knowledgable and I’m just giddy to know her. Check out her work @beesip, which is much better than my phone photos! (Although I stole one of David’s shots of a sleeping bee for this post! THANKS DUDE.)
Alie Ward Instagram – Ticks AND Lyme: together in one helpful, disgusting, gossipy, empowerful @ologies episode. We just re-released this with a ton of 2023 updates! In 2019, I talked to Dr. Neeta Pardanani Connally aka @ticklab and Dr. Andrea Swei about how to remove a tick, if you should spray your yard and with what, how landscaping affects tick exposure, why Lyme Disease is spreading, the Lone Star Tick rolling into town, how to protect your pets and why the CC ruined poppyseed muffins. Also: Powassan virus, paralysis ticks, and twin princesses, Borrelia and Babesia. And the new research we just included has more tips on how to avoid these tiny vampires spitting gross stuff into you. Get it wherever you get podcasts! Also all #CheckYourCrevices merch is 20% off! Have you listened yet?
