Bela Padilla Instagram – Soaking it all in ❤️ The education I’m getting here in Cannes is so precious to me. If I had told myself at 16 that I’d be here today, talking to fellow filmmakers about the right directions to follow and necessary changes we need to adapt to make life easier for the next generation, I would have laughed. It’s easy to stay in molds, but as you guys know, I’ve always been a curious cat. And branching out is exciting to me…😂 I can honestly confirm that life just finds ways to surprise you when you least expect it. I’ve been very confused since I got back to Europe from Manila. I absorb your feedback, and I agree that the roles I’ve been assigned with feel the same now. And trust me, I’ve tried to look for new material but I guess it’s just not the right time yet. And forcing myself to write scripts that don’t feel authentic or genuine to me is not happening…ever. So to give myself this opportunity to be here amongst like minded people is such a gift 🥹 I feel inspired to write again and I’m now hungry for more. we’ve been watching films that opened my eyes again…and I’ve met cinematographers, distributors, directors, composers, girl bosses, guy bosses (that support girl bosses) and the conversations have been so inspiring. I will never get tired of saying this on whatever platform you guys listen to me on. Follow your dreams. It’ll be scary. But it’s really the best you can do for yourself and the people around you 🥹❤️ special thank you to @nocir who’s the most supportive. When I get shy around people, he opens conversations for me 🙈😂 and because I’m so forgetful, he makes sure to know all my projects by heart so he can chime in.
